In the heart of Strijp S, the former ‘Forbidden City’ of Philips, stands het Ketelhuis. Built in 1929 as a transformer house to distribute electricity for the surrounding factories.
Starting 2011 it was put to new use by Amaro Creative Industries. Transformed into a restaurant, cocktailbar, coffee and lunchbar, event space, wedding location and continuously in motion.
Het Ketelhuis is the living room of Strijp S.
A place where food and drinks, arts and culture meet.
The heart of het Ketelhuis is our restaurant.
Bread comes from our own bakery, honey from the bee colony on the roof, herbs from our own garden. Our chefs love to work with whole animals and honest vegetables from local farmers.
Here, simplicity tastes good, at a table in the sun on our spacious terrace.

Worst en Dorst
On August 6, 7 and 8, 2021, Het Ketelhuis will -at long last- host another edition of Worst & Dorst, our seasonally recurring festivity, where woodfire, food, craftbeer, wine, cocktails, music and friendship take center stage. The first edition of Worst & Dorst was on a cold Saturday in February 2011. Over 10 years later, it is a celebration of all the things we truly love at Het Ketelhuis.
Tickets will go on sale in juli.
