Ketelhuis is the living room of Strijp S.
A place where food and drinks, art and culture meet.

In the heart of Strijp S, the former ‘Forbidden City’ of Philips, stands the Ketelhuis. Built in 1929 as a transformer house to distribute electricity for the surrounding factories.
The adjacent Oliehuisje stored barrels of cooling oil used for the solid copper cables and transformers.

From 2011, the monumental industrial building is in use by Amaro Creative Industries.
Since then, the Ketelhuis and its surroundings are constantly changing. Over the years, the Ketelhuis has gradually transformed into a restaurant, party space, wedding venue, bakery, cocktailbar, stand up comedy venue, coffee and lunch bar, and host to all kinds of cultural events.

The heart of het Ketelhuis is our restaurant.
Bread comes from our own bakery, honey from the bee colony on the roof, herbs from our own garden. Our chefs love to work with whole animals and honest vegetables from local farmers.
This is where simplicity tastes good.

Situated next to the restaurant is the Oliehuisje. This is where the cooling oil used to be stored for the many transformers in the building.

On the weekends you enjoy fresh baked pizza from our Italian stone oven.

Wine Lunch Domaine Kirrenbourg
Saturday November 27, 14:30
Boiler Room, Ketelhuis

Het Ketelhuis is pleased to invite you to its first wine lunch since chef Bert Van Gennip took over the helm. The evening, which is organised in collaboration with wine-importer Bottleneck, revolves around the wines of Domaine Kirrenbourg. These wines are characterised by great depth and a lot of minerality. Thanks in part to the choice for Pinot Noir and Riesling grapes, the wines are among the best you can drink in Alsace. The combination of a natural approach, vineyards with history and expert winemakers, makes Domaine Kirrenbourg a rising star in every respect. We are talking about an ultra-modern winery, situated between two of the best grand crus of Alsace, in the hills of Schlossberg and Brand, characterised by granite soil. For more than ten years, the Domaine Kirrenbourg has been committed to a vision of pure and natural viticulture.
We serve a 6-course dinner accompanied by 8 beautiful wines, water and coffee for € 99 per person.
